M42 Orion Nebula

2 nights · Feb 28–Mar 14, 2026 Seestar S30 Pro (LP dual-band filter) 243×10s · 40m30s accepted

The Orion Nebula.

The nearest place to Earth where stars are being born.

Close enough to see with your naked eye on a clear winter night. Far enough away that even at the speed of light, the journey would take about 17 human lifetimes.

Shot from my front deck on February 28 and March 14, 2026.
